9-100 GHz MMIC GaAs PIN SPDT Switch: MSW2-00004CH

MSW2-00004CH

The MSW2-00004CH is a high-performance, reflective single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch designed by Marki Microwave for use in advanced RF and microwave systems.

Fabricated using gallium arsenide (GaAs) PIN technology, this monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) operates across an exceptionally broad frequency range of 9 to 100 GHz. The device delivers low insertion loss—1.5 dB from 9 to 60 GHz and 2.4 dB up to 100 GHz—making it suitable for high-frequency applications where signal integrity is critical. It also provides excellent isolation, with typical values reaching 50 dB between the common port and any non-active port, and 46 dB between RF1 and RF2 from 9 to 67 GHz, ensuring minimal signal leakage and crosstalk.

The MSW2-00004CH requires both positive and negative 5V control voltages, with each control input capable of sourcing or sinking up to 10 mA. The switch is controlled via two inputs (I1 and I2), which determine the active RF path according to a straightforward logic table. All RF ports are internally DC shorted to ground, so external DC blocks are necessary if DC is present on the RF lines. The device is supplied as a wire-bondable die, measuring 3.10 x 2.40 mm, and should be mounted with high thermal and electrical conductivity for optimal performance. Its robust design supports operation from -55°C to 100°C, with a maximum input IP3 of +41 dBm and a fast switching time of 4 ns, making it ideal for demanding applications in radar, SATCOM, electronic warfare, and mobile test equipment.
