Gannon & Scott To Showcase Advanced Precious Metal Recovery Solutions At IMS2025
Gannon & Scott, a leader in precious metal refining and recovery, will exhibit at the IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in San Francisco, showcasing its high-efficiency solutions for reclaiming precious metals from complex manufacturing waste streams in the RF, microwave, and semiconductor industries.
With over a century of refining expertise, Gannon & Scott processes precious metal-bearing materials generated from advanced manufacturing, including used process kits, sludges, and spent solutions that contain valuable metals like gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. These materials are commonly produced in wafer fabrication, sputtering, etching, and surface finishing operations.
“RF and semiconductor manufacturers are under increasing pressure to improve sustainability while managing high-value material loss,” said Chris Jones, President of Gannon & Scott. “Our technologies allow customers to efficiently recover precious metals from their production byproducts, supporting both environmental goals and cost savings.”
Gannon & Scott operates two full-service refining facilities in the United States—Cranston, Rhode Island, and Phoenix, Arizona—providing regional flexibility, shorter transportation times, and optimized regulatory compliance. Customers shipping precious metal-bearing hazardous solutions may benefit from using the Phoenix facility due to Arizona’s adoption of the EPA’s 2018 definition of Hazardous Waste, also known as the Hazardous Secondary Material (HSM) rule.
This regulatory framework can simplify the shipment and handling of certain qualifying materials, helping reduce cost and complexity for manufacturers.
At IMS 2025, Gannon & Scott will highlight its capabilities in:
- Precious metal recovery from high-purity processing materials
- Thermal and chemical treatments designed for complex chemistries
- Environmentally responsible refining and certified destruction
- U.S.-based operations with transparent, compliant handling
