Fox Electronics Launches HCMOS OXCO For Base Station Applications

Fort Myers, FL -- Fox Electronics announced a new HCMOS, 14-pin DIP OCXO (oven-controlled crystal oscillator). Designed for use in base stations, the new FTS310 OCXO will benefit the WiMAX, HIPERMAN and WiBro markets in the U.S., Europe and Korea, respectively.

Fox's new OCXO meets the IEEE 802.16-2004 specification that dictates the OCXO have a frequency stability better than 8 PPM for 10 years. In addition, Fox's the OCXO has a phase noise of -125 dBc/Hz at an offset of 100 Hz and of -145 dBc/Hz at an offset of 10 kHz.

The operating temperature for the FTS310 is -40°C to +65°C, with an option of -40°C to +85°C for use in outdoor units or locations requiring tolerance to higher temperatures. In addition, the new OCXO has a frequency range of 2.43 to 60.00 MHz, warms up to within ±4.6 PPM in two minutes, and needs less than 1.5 watts of power to do so. Its supply voltage is 3.30 V ±0.16 V, its operating power is 1.0 watts at 0°C and 0.6 watts at 25°C and its output load is 15 pF. The OCXO measures 20.8 mm L x 13.2 mm W x 11.0 mm H.
