Artisan Components Inc. appointed Eduard Weichselbaumer to the newly created position of vice president of strategic programs. Weichselbaumer's objective is to expand Artisan's library business with key semiconductor manufacturers and system companies. Artisan also announced that Larry Fagg, vice president of worldwide sales, has left the company to pursue other interests. Artisan Components provides high-quality silicon intellectual property (IP) to the world's largest semiconductor manufacturers.

<%=company%>has appointed Matthew Chan president for the Asia Pacific region and corporate vice president, reporting directly to Cadence President and CEO Ray Bingham. In this role, Chan is responsible for the company's sales and operations activities throughout the Asia Pacific region. Cadence is the largest supplier of electronic design automation products, methodology services and design services used to accelerate and manage the design of semiconductors, computer systems, networking and telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, and a variety of other electronics-based products.

Harris Corp. has named Samuel Wyman III president and general manager of its Microwave Communications Division, headquartered in Redwood City, California. Wyman, who has fourteen years of executive management experience in both the commercial and government markets, will succeed Richard Peabody, who recently announced his decision to retire. The Microwave Communications Division, one of five divisions within Harris Corporation, is the largest supplier of microwave systems in North America. The division delivers wireless solutions to service providers of all types, including public network operators; fixed wireless operators, transportation, state, local and federal agencies; and power utilities. Its product line, the broadest in the industry, covers frequency bands up to 38 GHz for synchronous and asynchronous applications that comply with international and North American standards.

Datum Inc.'s board of directors has elected Erik van der Kaay as chairman of the board in addition to his present duties as president and CEO. Van der Kaay will replace Louis "Bernie" Horwitz, who is retiring as chairman. Datum designs, manufactures and markets advanced, cost-effective network synchronization, timing and frequency solutions for telecommunications, computer networks, satellite systems, and test and measurement applications.

TriQuint Semiconductor Inc. has appointed Nicolas Kauser to its board of directors. Kauser brings almost 40 years' experience in the communications industry to the TriQuint board. TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. is a leading worldwide supplier of a broad range of high performance gallium arsenide (GaAs) integrated circuits. TriQuint's products span the RF and millimeter wave frequency ranges and employ analog and mixed signal circuit designs.

Proxim Inc. announced the appointments of Kurt Bauer as vice president of Marketing and Jim Regel as vice president of Sales. Bauer is responsible for Proxim's marketing efforts worldwide, including Product Marketing, Market Development, Marketing Communications, and Technical Support. Regel is responsible for all of Proxim's sales activities, including OEM Sales, Channel Sales, ISP/MSO Sales, and Retail Sales. Proxim's previous vice president of Sales and Marketing, Brian Button, has left the company. Proxim Inc., is a supplier of spread spectrum wireless LAN products to OEMs and wireless solutions providers.

Donald Schroeder has been named vice president business development and chief technology officer of CTS Corp.. Schroeder will manage and direct CTS Corp. in implementing and achieving its technology objectives based on long-term product and profitability goals; will develop Company-wide strategic business plans to achieve Corporate objectives for products and services; and will work with CTS sales, marketing and product development to discern the competitiveness of new technologies. CTS designs, manufactures and sells a broad line of electronic components and custom electronic assemblies for OEM customers primarily in the communications equipment, automotive and computer equipment markets worldwide.
