Empower RF Systems Announces New Solid-State High-Power Tx/Rx Switches

Inglewood, CA -- Empower RF Systems, a designer and manufacturer of high-power RF and microwave amplifier systems and modules for EMC testing, military, and wireless applications, has announced a new line of solid-state high-power transmit/receive (Tx/Rx) switches. These units cover frequencies ranging from 1.5 to 1000 MHz and exhibit 1000 watts of output power.

The goal of any high-power system design utilizing high-power amplifiers and Tx/Rx switches is to provide high reliability while maintaining full system protection into any load condition, including open and short circuits. Empower RF claims to have accomplished this with its new switching technology in conjunction with high-reliability solid-state high power amplifiers.

This patent-pending approach improves the system's efficiency and output capability by minimizing transmit and receive path loss, as well as allowing for the fast switching speeds inherent in PIN diode devices.

The Empower RF Systems series TRS high power PIN diode switches allow for the rapid switching between the transmit and receive paths vital in today's high technology systems. The rapid (<50 uSec) switching speed and high isolation between transmit and receive paths ensures protection of the sensitive receiver from high RF powers.
