Embedded Wireless Devices Inc (EWD TM) Names John R. Troutman As Vice President of Sales/PC Wireless LAN Group

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Embedded Wireless Devices Inc (EWD TM) today announced the appointment of John R. Troutman as Vice President of Sales/PC Wireless LAN Group. In this key position, Troutman is responsible for executing the company's worldwide sales strategy for PC/wireless LAN-based networking applications. Applying his extensive knowledge of the semiconductor industry, Troutman also oversees the company's applications engineering and field applications engineering groups dedicated to these market segments.

"John Troutman's nearly 30 years of experience and relationships developed in the PC industry selling to such top tier manufacturers as Compaq, Dell, Gateway, HP, IBM, and Intel make him the ideal person to direct all sales operations in these market segments for EWD," said Sean T. Marzola, President & CEO of embedded wireless devices. "John will initially focus on increasing EWD's sales with key wireless LAN and PC manufacturers in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America."

Troutman brings an impressive background of strategic sales, operations, and technology experience to EWD. He joins EWD from Creative Labs, the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for the personal computer and the Internet, where he was Vice President and General Manager of their Worldwide OEM Division. In that position, Troutman was directly responsible for Sales and Marketing, Manufacturing Operations and Product Development. He also held P&L responsibility.

Prior to Creative Labs, Troutman was Co-founder and Vice President of Product Engineering, Inc. at Cardinal Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of PC peripherals.

In addition to the start-up activities associated with growing a young company, Troutman also lead their product development and engineering.

John Troutman previously held Engineering Management and Associate Member Technical Staff positions at RCA Corporation's Display Systems Division where he lead the development of products and technologies for high resolution color monitors for the PC market. Troutman received his technical degree from Ryder Technical Institute with additional studies at Lehigh University.
