Elcom Launches Broadband Ultra-Fast Direct Synthesizer

Rockleigh, NJ -- Elcom Technologies, Inc. has released a new ultra-fast, ultra-low phase noise, phase coherent broadband synthesizer. The UFS-18 Series is based on direct-analog design techniques combined with DDS capability for fine frequency resolution. The unit also provides wide band FM chirp and IF Input (datasheet).

Elcom achieves simultaneous phase coherent and random access switching at 1 Hz resolution and £ 250 nanosecond across the full band using its propriety digital synthesizer core design.

The UFS was designed with a special emphasis on high MTBF and modularity. This was achieved by a reduction of DC Power dissipation, which leads to lower junction temperature. The high density FPGA also helps with reducing the parts count and space.

The UFS series can be customized to meet special applications such as: EW threat and target simulators, radar cross section instrumentation, fire control and search radar upgrades, semiconductor test, and ATE speed-up.
