Durel Wins Complaint Against Osram Sylvania

Durel Corp., a joint venture of Rogers Corp. and 3M, has won five rulings in a patent lawsuit against Osram Sylvania.

In 1995, Durel sued Sylvania for infringement of patents, requesting a jury trial and seeking an injunction and damages. Sylvania then moved to dismiss Durel's patent infringement claim, asserting that Sylvania's coatings did not meet a particular requirement of the patents and that the patents were invalid for non-enablement.

According to Durel, the court has ruled against Sylvania on both assertions. In addition, the court has dismissed three counterclaims that Sylvania filed against Durel.
