Ducommun Incorporated, founded in 1849, is the oldest company in California. Evolving from a store opened by Charles Louis Ducommun in Los Angeles during the California Gold Rush, the company assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to such fledgling companies as Douglas and Lockheed.

Today, Ducommun continues to support the aerospace and wireless communications industries through six subsidiaries that provide proprietary products and services on a global basis.

Ducommun Incorporated serves the aerospace industry, both original equipment manufacturers and the commercial airline after-market, and recently has expanded into the high-growth wireless communications industry.

Ducommun is benefiting from consolidation in the aerospace industry as well as the trend toward the outsourcing of aircraft structural component manufacturing. Because each of the company's aerospace businesses is a leader in its market, Ducommun products are represented on virtually every major aircraft, helicopter and space program.

During the aerospace industry's decline in the early 1990s, the Company maintained its profitability and is now strongly positioned to benefit from the anticipated rebound in commercial aircraft production, as well as from the explosive growth in the wireless communications industry.
