Dielectric Introduces 1.8-kW Switchback Filter For The 700 MHz Broadcasting Spectrum

Raymond, ME -- Dielectric Communications, a division of SPX, launched a new 1.8-kW switchback filter optimized specifically for the 700 MHz broadcasting spectrum. The new switchback filter provides a unique, compact footprint that reduces the amount of space required to decrease signal interference issues while still maintaining a 1.8-kW power output.

The stringent mask filter's unique rack-mountable package is compact enough to fit within a standard 19-inch rack, and provides superior electrical performance with an extremely low integrated insertion loss of less than 1.1 dB. State-of-the-art material selection provides temperature compensation within +/- 10 kHz and an overall temperature range of 0 to 45 degrees Centigrade. The filter provides a VSWR of less than 1.25:1.

"By designing our new 1.8 kW filter with a distinctive mechanical folding structure, we've ensured that it can be implemented easily into a wide range of transmission stations, large and small. Broadcasters, regardless of the antenna type they are utilizing, will find it to be a simple, plug-and-play integration into their existing set-up," said Dielectric President Garrett VanAtta. "The 700 MHz market has very stringent requirements that broadcasters must meet, and our new filter is engineered to make it easier than ever for our customers to fit into this spectrum and still expect superior quality in their transmissions."
