Founded in 1980 by noted materials scientist Dr. William R. Cuming, Cuming Corporation provides innovative syntactic foam products for demanding applications in the offshore oil and gas industries. Cuming Corporation engineers made the very first syntactic foam buoyancy modules for marine risers in 1968, helping to launch the worldwide deepwater exploration for oil and gas. Our high performance products (riser modules, buoys and insulation for pipelines and other subsea equipment) have been involved in every major offshore advance since the beginning. We develop and manufacture these technically advanced materials at our Avon, Massachusetts, headquarters. And, our newest plant in New Iberia, Louisiana, directly services offshore oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico.
