Canoga Perkins was founded in 1965 as Perkins Research & Manufacturing, Inc. specializing in Outside Plant telephone equipment. It later expanded its product line to include Digital Transmission test equipment. In 1977 a division was added, Canoga Data Systems, to specialize in fiber optic modems and multiplexers for the local data communications environment. The two entities were combined in October, 1985, to form Canoga Perkins Corporation. Canoga Perkins was acquired in December, 1986, by Inductotherm Industries, Inc. of Rancocas, New Jersey and became an integral part of Inductotherm's "High Technology Group". Inductotherm is the parent organization of more than 50 companies around the world. Today, Canoga Perkins continues to specialize in fiber optic communications. The Company designs, manufactures and sells LAN/WAN Internetworking, fiber optic modems and multiplexers (WDM and TDM),Videoconferencing products and Outside Plant Test equipment.
