C-MAC MicroTechnology Appoints New CEO
Indro joined C-MAC at the end of 2005 from Philips Semiconductors, where he was Executive Vice-President & General Manager of the Automotive & Identification Business Unit. A strategic review by C-MAC's senior management team, under Indro's direction, has identified medical, automotive and transportation applications as directions for future growth, building upon the company's strength in the communications, industrial and military/aerospace sectors.
Indro explained: "C-MAC has a superb pedigree in electronic design, development and manufacture in partnership with a broad range of electronics OEMs, large and small. We're investing strongly in hybrid microelectronics manufacturing, including a new state-of-the-art LTCC [low-temperature co-fired ceramic] facility, giving us a broad technology portfolio that is unique within the industry."
"An unflinching commitment to electronics excellence has served C-MAC well in the past, and will be all the more important as we strive to expand into promising growth sectors such as medical and automotive" Indro continued. "We now have the vision and determination to become supplier of choice across a range of markets. We are a new C-MAC MicroTechnology, and we have an exciting platform for growth."
C-MAC MicroTechnology is supplying electro-optic and power management systems into multinational aerospace projects, and has multi-year agreements with a number of automotive systems manufacturers to supply under-hood electronic modules and subassemblies.
Andrew Gray of private equity group Francisco Partners, and a C-MAC board member, said: "C-MAC today is the world leader in high-reliability electronic components, modules and systems, and it has the potential to be much more. Inviting Indro to join the board as CEO adds leadership skills gained from his experience of highly competitive customer facing environments, enabling us to quickly explore opportunities within interesting new markets."
