Bourns Introduces FBN Series LTCC Baluns For RF Signal Conversion And Impedance Transformation
Low-temperature co-fired ceramic devices support 800 MHz to 3900 MHz frequency ranges in compact packages for 5G, IoT/LTE, LTE and GPS designs
Bourns today announced the Model FBN1606N360D6, FBN2009N090D6, FBN2009N185D6, and FBN2009N230D6 LTCC (low-temperature co-fired ceramic) baluns. The devices provide balanced-to-unbalanced signal conversion and impedance transformation for RF circuit applications in compact package sizes, with model frequency ranges from 800 MHz to 3900 MHz.
RF front-end designs often require signal conversion, impedance matching and compact component placement within a limited board area. LTCC multilayer ceramic technology integrates inductors, capacitors and other passive elements into a single monolithic structure. This construction supports slim, compact and reliable microelectronic designs while offering an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C. The four models cover application-specific bands for 5G, IoT/LTE, LTE and GPS designs.
“These LTCC baluns give RF designers documented options for balanced-to-unbalanced conversion and impedance transformation across 800 MHz to 3900 MHz frequency ranges. The multilayer ceramic construction keeps the package compact while supporting the insertion loss, phase difference and amplitude difference values specified for each model.” — Edward Liu, Product Line Manager, Bourns.
