Angola, NY -- TX RX Systems Inc., a division of Bird and supplier of RF management products and systems in the LMR (land mobile radio) market, now offers several new options with advanced functionality for its Signal Booster II product family. The new options include a Remote Communications Card, Fiber Optic Interface, 48 Volt DC (VDC) supply, and Redundant Power Amplifier (PA) configuration.

"SBII is ideal for in-building RF coverage solutions for mission-critical applications," Minfei Leng, product manager for RF management products, said. "A product that provides the public-safety rated performance will deliver total confidence for its users. And SBII's new suite of options are extremely useful for both the end users and the system integrators by either simplifying the installation and use of the system or further improving the reliability of the product."

The Remote Communications Card provides complete remote accessibility to the unit, its critical component status, and datalog, and allows remote configuration of critical operating parameters. The Fiber Optic Interface configuration delivers gain and output levels tailored for the unique requirements of fiber optic systems and features a NEMA or 19" rack-mount enclosure for a variety of applications. The 48 VDC option, along with the universal AC and 24 VDC supplies which are standard for all SBII models, offers an additional degree of flexibility in power requirement. The Redundant PA option ensures the continuous operation of the system in the unlikely event of a PA failure by automatically switching between Primary PA and Secondary PA, and entering into 'bypass' mode to allow the signal to still pass through eve n if both PAs fail. This configuration also allows the user to manually switch between the two PAs.
