On August 6, 2004 the FCC made the decision to relocate incumbent BAS, CARS, and LTTS licensees operating within 1990–2110 MHz to 2025–2110 MHz. The relocation is to be conducted on a DMA by DMA (Designated Market Area) basis and requires that all eligible licensees convert from the current 17 MHz channel plan to a new FCC mandated 12 MHz channel plan.
