Bandpass Filters

Source: ComNav Engineering, Inc.
Bandpass filters are used to reject frequencies outside of a desired range, while allowing designated frequencies to pass through. Any type of application that results in a particular frequency needing to be filtered against a large range of different signals would benefit from the integration of a Bandpass filter. There are two main types of Bandpass filters; active, and passive. Passive Bandpass filters use no external power source and use inductors and capacitors (passive components). Active Bandpass filters use transistors and integrated circuits (active components), and use an external source of power.

6BCV4-2472/C26-N: 6-Pole, Cross-Coupled Cavity Bandpass Filter

This particular bandpass filter was designed specifically for low level, sharp skirts on the rejection. Cross coupling was used to achieve a tight shape factor of less than 1.5:1 at 20 dBc with only 6 resonant elements. This device was designed to be provided fix tuned across a relatively broad band, yet maintain the tight passband and rejection specs across the entire useful frequency range. In addition, depending on the specific application this device is supplied with either SMA or N connectors.
