The Maury Automated Tuner System (ATS) is one of a number of RF device characterization solutions that we currently offer to the RF and microwave design and manufacturing industry. Maury's ATS is a fast, accurate, broadband automated impedance control system that enables users to introduce a wide range of known source and load impedances into a device under test (DUT) to determine a variety of device parameters under real operating conditions. The complete ATS is comprised of Windows® 98/2000/XP Compatible PC Based Application Software, Automated Electro-mechanical Tuners, and a GPIB Compatible Tuner Controller.

The ATS is primarily used for accurate de-embedded performance evaluation of the power, intermodulation distortion, adjacent channel power, noise, and network (S-parameter) characteristics of packaged or on-wafer devices under various impedance matching conditions.

Used with appropriate auxiliary equipment (power and noise figure meters, spectrum analyzers, signal sources, etc.), the Maury ATS is a fast, accurate means of evaluating the noise, power, intermodulation distortion (IMD) and adjacent channel power (ACP) characteristics of devices, modules and subsystems. It can reduce measurement time from days (using manual techniques) to mere minutes. Thus, it is a very cost effective solution to your measurement problems that rapidly returns your investment.

Additional Information

High Performance - Broad Frequency Coverage
The precision measurement capability of the ATS is based on the repeatability and stability of the automated slide screw tuners. These tuners are available in frequency ranges from 0.25 to 110 GHz typically spanning a decade. Units are also available with higher matching capability over smaller frequency ranges.

Repeatability
Repeatability is one of the most critical factors affecting tuner performance, and the Maury ATS units posess a number of design feature that ensure repeatability that is unmatched by any other manufacturer. This quality by design distinguishes Maury tuners from the competition. Repeatability is expressed as the worst case error between any two measurement points as measured over the entire available matching range and frequency range for each probe under test. Every Maury tuner is tested to determine the worst case repeatability between any two measurements made from the same impedance position for more than 13,000 impedance points over the unit's full frequency range and matching range. Before leaving the factory, all units undergo a "burn in" cycle and are fully tested for repeatability and mechanical functionality.

Support and Upgrades
The Maury ATS is continually being improved and upgraded. At least one formal software upgrade is produced each year. A software support agreement is available to insure that your system remains current with the latest features and improvements in measurement capability.
