Mr. Dave Doe, Atlanta Cable Sales Inc. founder, started the firm in 1978 as an independent distributor of wire and cable products. In 1983 the decision was made to diversify, including the creation of a cable assembly department. With the death of Mr. Doe in early 1990, Mr. David Merenda, the firm's Vice President and Controller, replaced him as CEO and assumed 100% ownership of the firm. In early 1995, Mr. Bryan H. Glutting was added to the executive staff as Director of Sales. He was given the challenge to expand and create a sales environment and compensation program that would be unmatched in the industry. The result of his effort has been to increase sales by 36% each year since 1995 while maintaining competitive pricing. Due to his accomplishments, he was promoted to Vice President in 1996.

Our products are utilized by over 1300 customers in the data, voice, video, high speed transmission and central office applications. Our customers range from start up companies to Fortune 500 companies. We currently have over 9000 cable designs with 60% of our annual sales coming from cable assemblies. Over the years, we have earned a reputation with our customers for offering cost effective solutions while maintaining the highest possible workmanship. Our customers seek solutions from us in engineering, application and warehousing for both long term and just-in-time delivery.

The balance of our annual sales comes from our distribution products. We offer distribution as an added service to our clients. This affords them one stop shopping with competitive pricing. We offer a variety of networking products such as patch panels, cat 5 jacks and cable, along with other products used in successful LAN installations including hubs, interface cards, switches, translators, bridges, and routers. Our current product line in this area includes, but is not limited to, Montrose/CDT, Leviton, Siemon, Amp, TRW, Amphenol, Prestolite, Porta Systems, Lancast, Cisco, RAD, and Plaintree.

Our assembly department is capable of producing anything from a small cable order to a full size production of various types of assemblies. We currently are producing on the CO side, DS1, DS3, T1, muldum, fiber optic, alarm, and special design cables for such companies as Marconi, DSC, Fujitsu, AT&T and Nortel. On the LAN side we produce CAT5, RS232, RS422, RS535, video, V.35, AUI, Token Ring and many more. We build to customer specifications and offer engineering services for individual applications at no extra charge. Our automated assembly equipment and hand tools are checked daily and calibrated via Quality Assurance Standards. Our production staff is the first step in our Quality Program. Each member has passed both written aptitude testing and demonstrated excellent soldering skills prior to employment. We maintain this built-in quality by testing every cable that is produced. We do not test by lots, nor do we subcontract any of our production.

The growth of Atlanta Cable Sales, Inc. continues today by expanding the work force with an average of one production person every 2-3 months and one sales professional every 3-4 months. This expansion falls under the "Controlled Growth" program instituted by Mr. Glutting, Vice President. We currently employ 100+ people and look to have annual sales of $25 million in 2000.
