AT4 Wireless Tests MIMO 2.5 GHz Mobile WiMAX Forum Certified Products

Amsterdam - AT4 wireless, the WiMAX Forum's lead laboratory and first worldwide WiMAX Forum Designated Certification Laboratory (WFDCL), announced the completion of the first round of certification testing for MIMO 2.5 GHz Mobile WiMAX Certified products at its facilities in Malaga, Spain.

The certification included base stations and subscriber stations operating in the 2.5 GHz frequency band. All of the newly certified 2.5 GHz subscriber stations (also known as terminals) successfully passed all the mandatory MIMO testing.

"AT4 wireless is very proud in the role it played in achieving Mobile WiMAX Certification for the first MIMO 2.5 GHz profile, an important milestone for the WiMAX Forum and for the technology itself," said Fernando E. Hardasmal, AT4 wireless Deputy General Director. "It is the result of the team work of many companies involved. AT4 wireless would like to thank all the Test Equipment Vendors, Validation Companies and BS/SS Vendors involved. We are also very satisfied with the work and effort made by our lab team who has done a great job. Both, our Spain and US laboratories will now be attending to new projects that we expect will be reach the market in the following weeks."

The WiMAX Forum certification process assures that the devices undergo rigorous testing to ensure that they are interoperable when they reach the market, allowing operators and services providers to buy equipment from more than one supplier.
