Anaren Offers New Xinger-II 3dB Couplers

Syracuse, NY -- Anaren, Inc. recently announced the availability of seven new Xinger-II brand 3 dB couplers for use in wireless applications. Covering 410 to 2700 MHz, including models optimized for CDMA2000, ISM, GSM, DCS, PCS, AMPS, 3G, UMTS, WiMAX, and wireless LAN applications, the new family of hybrids offers all the performance advantages of the Xinger-II format first introduced in Spring 2004, including low insertion loss, tight coupling tolerances, high directivity, and improved phase and amplitude balance.

"The very low insertion loss and tight balance characteristics on these 3 dB couplers is particularly useful in today's balanced high-power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, and other signal distribution duties," says H.P. Ostergaard, the wireless product line manager in charge of Xinger-II. He added that the components have been subject to rigorous qualification testing and are built to be "CTE compatible with substrates like FR4, G-10, RF-35, and RO4350."

The new Xinger-II 3 dB components provide manufacturability improvements, including:

  • Larger pads at key soldering points to better allow for variations in an OEM's pick-and-place process,
  • Both lead and non-lead models to match a customer's current position relative to emerging environmental standards; and
  • The company's most thorough documentation, which simplifies part-certification and migration from previous Anaren hybrids.

"We listened hard to our customers," says Ostergaard. "And we responded."

Like all Anaren off-the-shelf components, the new Xinger-II 3 dB couplers are also backed by Anaren's 100% On-Spec guarantee and B-There service commitment that ensures on-time delivery. Samples are also available within 24 hours for qualified prototype work.
