Anaren Launches New Line Of Xinger®-III Brand, Surface-Mount Doherty Combiners For Wireless Amplifiers
New Line of Components Save Valuable Board Space and Offer Performance Advantages Over Traditional Doherty Combiners Printed on PCB
Syracuse, NY (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Anaren, Inc. (Nasdaq:ANEN) announced today that it has launched a new line of Xinger-III brand Doherty combiners that offer considerable size and performance advantages over traditional Doherty solutions — which are printed directly onto printed circuit board (PCB). Available in models covering 600MHz-2700MHz — and measuring only 6.35 x 5.08mm (P-size) or 14.2 x 5.08mm (E-size) — Anaren's revolutionary new SMT Doherty combiners are up to 1/10th the size of printed Doherty implementations.
"Our Doherty combiners are another in a long line of 'traditional' wireless components that we've revisited and re-packaged using our Xinger stripline approach," says Anaren Wireless Group product line manager Bo Jensen. "As with other Xinger parts, our customers will find multiple value-added features with these — from smaller footprints, to lower or comparable insertion loss characteristics, to vastly improved repeatability over PCB-printed Doherty combiners."

For amplifier OEMs, who typically 'print' Doherty combiners directly onto PCB material — Anaren's new surface-mountable components offer distinct advantages, including:
- Smaller footprint — provides space for additional components/functionality or for the use of asmaller overall design
- Lower insertion loss — in a fraction of the space, achieve the same loss achievable with thick, expensive, high-performance PCB
- Superior unit-to-unit consistency — Xinger-brand components are pre-tested and offer highly repeatable performance compared to the variability seen with low-cost PCB manufacturing
- The option to choose less costly PCB — switching to an SMT solution lets the eOEM use a standard FR4-type board material (no more of overcompensating for poor insertion loss of printed combiners by using top-of-the-line board)
- High reliability — our softboard SMT solution matches the CTE characteristics of PCB
- Xinger-brand Doherty splitters (5dB couplers) available, as well — to save additional time and trouble, when the OEM is developing an asymmetrical Doherty implementation
- Readily available — As with other Anaren standard components targeted to the wireless market, this new line is available through Anaren's authorized, stocking distributors: Richardson RFPD (worldwide), Avnet (Asia), and BFI Optilas (Europe).
