Hauppauge, NY -- Amplifier designer/developer AmpliTech today announced its latest waveguide amplifier design, the APTW4-18002650-2510-42. This new waveguide (WR-42) amplifier features an operating frequency of 18.0 to 26.5 GHz, an ultra-low noise figure of 2.2 dB (191.3° K) max., and a minimum output power of +10 dBm (+20 dBm IP3). It is also available with an optimized bandwidth from 17.8 to 21.3 GHz and a noise figure as low as 135ยบ K.

This new low-noise amplifier (LNA) has a two-piece modular design, which helps with assembly, troubleshooting, and field repair. It is unconditionally stable and can operate under intense weather conditions, temperatures (-55° to +85° C), shocks, and vibrations. The amplifier is ideal for military, telecom, telemetry, and space applications.

"AmpliTech is very pleased with the performance of this new LNA," Fawad Maqbool, president of AmpliTech, said. "It is really very difficult to get such a ultra-low noise figure at these frequencies along with good VSWR, good output power, and flat gain, all in a relatively small form factor."

"Going forward, we will look to further improve and expand on the LNA design," he added. "Remember, this amplifier was not some product manager's idea. Our customers came to us to build it because they could not find anything comparable to its small size, reliability, performance, and most of all, competitive pricing. It is indicative of the many advantages available with all of our products."

The APTW4-18002650-2510-42 comes with a 3-year standard warranty and can be modified to fit exact specifications. AmpliTech has also designed low-noise amplifiers for cryogenic cooling, space/flight, fiber optic, surface-mount, and IFM military applications.
