Lightweight Waveguides Extended To WR-28 Through WR-112 With A Superior Design

Dow-Key Microwave has extended its lightweight waveguide switch portfolio, now supporting a broader range of bandwidths starting at WR-28 (26.5-40 GHz) through WR-112 (7.05-10.0 GHz). These waveguides are superior to their previous designs in terms of weight, size, and current consumption, and have carefully been engineered to meet today's requirements imposed by military and commercial applications.

Improvements:

The weight of these waveguides has been reduced by approximately 50% such that WR-28 through WR-90 weights only 300 grams, while the larger size WR-112 weights 500 grams. Further design improvements have been made to reduce the overall dimensions for a more compact solution compared to earlier designs. Also, a 65% reduction in current consumption yields to a more power efficient waveguide.
