This miniature, high-power, hermetically-sealed switch (409V-3519) from Dow-Key Microwave represents new technology to provide extremely low loss, high integrity switching of high-power RF signals up to 6 GHz and 100 W. This switch is ideal for redundancy, filter, and amplifier switching in high end military applications.

Currently, this series is only offered for application with one input and two outputs (SPDT 409/409V) or two inputs and two outputs signals (transfer DPDT 419), with the choice of a failsafe or a pulse latching actuator. When removing the power, or at power loss, the failsafe version will default to position 1, while a pulse latching actuator remains in its current position. Each solution draws continuous current to stay in position and both are equally popular depending on the type of actuator required by the application.

The switch operates from DC up to 3 GHz and within its small dimensions, less than 0.8 inch across, it is capable of handling an average power of 100 W. The insertion loss is as low as 0.30 dB and the VSWR is only 1.20:1, which is better than the connectorized SPDT and DPDT switches. With an excellent isolation of 70 dB, the miniature sized switches meet most pin-mount switching needs.
