The Strange Case Of Dr. Modeling And Mr. Simulation

Source: IDS Ingegneria Dei Sistemi S.p.A.

Simulation is typically used for analyzing and optimizing the nominal configuration of devices like antennas to assess the electrical performance of the device for its desired application. However, simulation cannot necessarily provide performance data when the matter under consideration is designed for use on a satellite or something else entirely. Modeling tools can then be used to synthesize an equivalent model of an antenna using its design specifications as input data so that its position and performance can be analyzed while on a specific platform.
