Scattering And Radar Cross Section

Source: Altair Engineering Inc

An object’s scattering properties are described as the special distribution of scattered energy when it is exposed to incident electromagnetic fields, and is measured by radar cross section (RCS). Depending on the object’s shape, size, and material characteristics, the incident fields can be reflected, absorbed by the object, or scattered into multiple directions. The FEKO software has the ability to differentiate incident from reflected electromagnetic field components, and is well suited for scattering and RCS computations. Download the full application note for more information on how FEKO is an industry leading tool for scattering and RCS modelling and analyses.
