Richardson RFPD Introduces New S-Band 7W Pulsed High Power Amplifier From MACOM

Specifically designed for avionics and weather radar applications

Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced recently the availability and full design support capabilities for a new GaAs power amplifier from M/A-COM Technology Solutions.

The MAAP-011022 high power balanced amplifier operates from 2.7 to 3.0 GHz, provides 7W of pulsed power, and is designed to operate at an 8% duty cycle. The new amplifier provides rugged performance under load mismatch, and its balanced architecture offers excellent return loss across the frequency band and high performance under demanding VSWR load conditions.

It is specifically designed for S-band aviation and weather radar applications.

According to MACOM, additional key features of the MAAP-011022 include:

• 23 dB small signal gain
• +10V bias operation
• 50 Ω impedance, balanced design
• 6 mm 28-lead PQFN package
