MtronPTI Receives Second AS9100 Rev C Certification

Design and Manufacturing Facility in Orlando Meets Stringent Quality Requirements for Aerospace, Telecommunications, Wireless Communications, Medical and Space Industries

Orlando - MtronPTI, leader in custom harsh environment RF & microwave filters and frequency control solutions, today announced certification to AS9100 Rev C requirements for their Orlando, Florida, site. In March of last year, MtronPTI’s Yankton, SD, timing products design and manufacturing site achieved the same certification.

The Orlando site received AS9100 Rev C certification for custom frequency control products including filters, crystal oscillators, and precision resonators.

AS9100 is a superset of ISO 9001:2008 with added attention to traceability through subcontractors, configuration management and other select quality and safety aspects. AS9100 places a greater emphasis on client satisfaction, measuring key metrics including quality and on-time delivery, making this certification more difficult to maintain. Performance is made public so clients can assess a supplier’s process over time. Nearly every Tier 1 aerospace manufacturer requires AS 9100 from all suppliers, even those producing raw materials, and expects documentation demonstrating that strict standards are maintained throughout the entire manufacturing process.

Developed by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), AS9100 Rev C satisfies internal, government, and regulatory requirements to improve quality, delivery and cost. AS9100 requires prevention-oriented practices, standardization and cooperative initiatives throughout the value stream. An international standard, AS9100 Rev C is endorsed in the U.S. by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DoD) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
