Electromagnetic And Thermal Analysis Of A Human-Body Model With Implant In MRI

Source: Altair Engineering Inc

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology is dependent on a good radio-frequency (RF) coil design for its image quality. FEKO simulation software can be used to efficiently design these coils with the simulation methods the tool offers. Available simulation methods include the MoM method, which is efficient for MRI coil design even when a phantom implant is in the model. For models with complicated heterogeneous phantoms, the hybrid finite element method / method of moments (FEM/MoM) is the fastest simulation, while the finite difference time domain method uses the least memory. Download the application note for more how to use FEKO in RF coil design with an implant in ASTM models, and with an implant in a heterogeneous human-body model.
