Defining A Channel Sounding Measurement System For Characterizing 5G Air Interfaces
Emerging 5G standards will most likely incorporate a mixture of millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequencies, ultra-broad bandwidths, and massive multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) methods. In order to define new air interface standards for 5G, over-the-air channels need to be fully characterized, which requires the creation of mathematical channel performance models. This application note describes how to define a channel sounding measurement system with the use of a Keysight reference solution featuring fast measurement speed, MIMO sounding capabilities, and excellent measurement performance.
