San Diego, CA, 12 January 2015: Dr. Ian Gresham, Anokiwave Distinguished Fellow of Technology has been named a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for technical leadership in commercial automotive radar sensors.

The IEEE Grade of Fellow is conferred by the IEEE Board of Directors upon a person with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. The total number selected in any one year cannot exceed one‐tenth of one‐ percent of the total voting membership. IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.

Automotive radar sensors are being deployed in safety applications in rapidly increasing numbers in the industry and are evolving from driver assist functions into active safety intervention. The rapid increase in radar sensor use is being fueled not only by legislative requirements, but also by advances in m manufacturability, quality, reliability, and in particular, the level of integration in the millimeter‐wave transceiver through deployment of highly integrated mm‐wave Si transceivers.

“This is a great honor to be recognized by the IEEE. It’s both flattering, and humbling to be nominated by your peers and colleagues. I’ve been extremely fortunate in my career to work with, and learn from, a lot of very talented and creative engineers who’ve inspired me over the years. ”

The IEEE is the world’s leading professional association for advancing technology for humanity. Through its 400,000 members in 160 countries, the IEEE is a leading authority on a wide variety of areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics.

“It is a proud moment for all of us at Anokiwave to see one of our true technology innovators elevated to IEEE Fellow,” states Robert Donahue, Anokiwave CEO. “Our society and company are a better place with the contributions being made by Ian. Warmest congratulations from us all to Ian.”
