Video: RFMD High-Power, High-Efficiency GaN Doherty Demo

In this video from IMS2010, RFMD® provides a live demonstration of high-power, high-efficiency GaN Doherty, which targets cellular base transceiver station (BTS) applications including 3GPP/LTE. The RFG1MO9180 discrete BTS power amplifier features 180 watt peak power, 50 volt operation, >70 percent peak efficiency, and a single device covers a 700 to 1000 MHz frequency range. RFMD's Doherty amplifier provides >49 dBm with 50 percent efficiency covering an 869 to 894 MHz range. Utilizing pre-distortion, the Doherty amplifier is corrected to better than -52 dBc under a 3GPP test model with 7.5 dB peak-to-average ratio (PAR).
