Capacitive Voltage Probe
This probe is used to measure the voltage of common-mode disturbances conducted along cables. The cable to be measured is clamped in the probe, which is hinged. We use the capacitance between the cable and inner electrode of the probe to obtain measurement of the voltage on the wires in the cable without coming into contact with them. This probe operates over a wide frequency range with any type of cable.

- Application of this test device is safe and has no effect on the transmission process of the equipment under test
- More than 200 types of cables
- Wide frequency range (10kHz to 100MHz)
Voltage Probe Applicable to All Types of Cables
The CVP is the first alterative for ISN in CISPR pub.16-1-2. It has achieved innovative applicability to all types of cables compared to the conventional ISNs. The common-mode voltage on the multi-pair cable can be easily detected by capacitance coupling between the cable conductors and electrode of the clamped probe. Also, it is not necessary to cut, bear or touch the cable conductor and the measurement by using CVP never causes transmission signal degradation.
Constant Sensitivity in Wide Frequency Range
The CVP has constant sensitivity in wide frequency range from 10 kHz to 30 MHz. (The CISPR16-1-2 specifies flatness in frequency range from 150 kHz to 30 MHz) This can be applied not only spectrum measurement but also wave form measurement. The sensitivity can be switched to 1/10 and 1/100 for lower and higher level measurements.
Two Types for Large and Small Cable Diameter
The sensitivity of the CVP depends on the diameter of cable and inner electrode of the CVP. The suitable one can be selected from two types of CVPs; the CVP-20L for cable diameter smaller than 10 mm, and the CVP-20S for cable diameter larger than 10 mm.
