Broadband Radiation Meter: NBM-580
Datasheet: Broadband Radiation Meter: NBM-580
The Broadband Radiation Meter and software not only collect the data, but allow it to be manipulated in many ways to give operators a clear picture of real-time and historical monitoring conditions encountered by each remote instrument in either tabular or graphic form. It shows averages, points where defined limits were exceeded, assign GPS coordinates (depending on the NBM instrument to which it is connected), and configures timed recording for each individual remote instrument, among many other functions.
For sensor connections, the instrument has between one and eight optical USB interfaces with a maximum data rate of 115.2 kbaud depending on the model, along with two USB 2.0 ports on the front panel and four on the rear. Using plastic fiber optic cable, the remote monitors can be located up to 60 m from the NBM-580, and the use of glass fiber extends this to around 600 m.
The Broadband Radiation Meter can be controlled locally by IEEE-488.2 bus or more widely via 10/100 Ethernet (which makes control possible from anywhere there is an Internet connection). Two user-configurable high-power alarm relays make it possible to place alarms in various locations that can be either audible, audible with increasing with field strength, visual, or all three. An additional alarm/logic interface is provided for other types of alarms.
