The RF2506 is a low power BiCMOS voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) with a broad reference frequency range. The part is ideal for use in a wide range of systems such as license-free ISM Band applications, cordless phones and the emerging market of broadband radio systems.
The device replaces discrete designs, or VCO modules, with an eight-pin monolithic IC. It operates from a 2.7V to 3.6V supply and provides a reference frequency from 10MHz to 1GHz. At a reduced supply voltage of 2.2V, output power will reduce from -3dBm to 11dBm. The device contains a phase noise of -110dBc (100KHz offset). Its digitally controlled power down pin reduces current to under 1uA in standby mode.
Manufactured using an advanced Silicon BiCMOS process technology, the device is offered in an SOP-8 package. Fully assembled evaluation boards are also available.
