Spectrum Monitoring System Enables High-Speed Signal Monitoring And Data Capture For EW, SIGINT

Source: Summitek Instruments, Inc.
Englewood, CO -- Summitek Instruments, a Smiths Interconnect company, has delivered a spectrum monitoring system that integrates its OASIS spectrum monitoring and interference analysis software with a vector signal analyzer (VSA) from National Instruments (NI) and a spectrum analyzer from Agilent Technologies to realize new monitoring and data capture capabilities.

OASIS now supports electronic warfare (EW) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) applications that require broadband monitoring of the RF spectrum and high-speed data capture of emissions of interest. The high-speed system uses an NI PXI-5661 VSA to stream I/Q data to the Conduant StreamStor terabyte recording system. All data collected by OASIS is marked with GPS time and location. Subsequent to the data acquisition, OASIS provides tools to analyze and playback recorded data. The system can be used in fixed locations or installed in a vehicle for mobile applications.

OASIS includes worldwide maps and custom databases to support drive test, direction finding, and SIGINT applications.
