Hittite Launches LNA For Microwave Radio, Test Equipment, And Military Applications

May 20, 2008

Chelmsford, MA - Hittite Microwave Corporation announced the release of a new SMT MMIC Wideband Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) which covers microwave radio, military EW, and test & measurement equipment applications from 18 to 31 GHz.

The HMC519LC4 GaAs pHEMT MMIC LNA is rated from 18 to 31 GHz, and delivers 14 dB gain, 3.5 dB noise figure, and +24 dBm output IP3. The HMC519LC4 also exhibits consistent output power and excellent gain flatness, making it ideal for test and measurement equipment, and applications which require coverage of multiple microwave radio bands with a single MMIC. This compact, self-biased LNA provides up to +24 dBm output IP3 while consuming only 75mA from a single +3V supply. Furthermore, the Psat output power of +15 dBm enables this LNA to function as a LO driver for balanced, I/Q or image reject mixers. The HMC519LC4 features 50 Ohm matched and DC blocked RF I/Os and requires no external components other than standard bias decoupling capacitors.

The HMC519LC4 GaAs pHEMT MMIC LNA is housed in a RoHS compliant 4x4 mm leadless ceramic SMT package, and complements Hittite's broad line of wideband distributed amplifier die, SMT and modules which cover frequencies from DC to 65 GHz.

Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company's e-commerce site or via direct purchase order.
