This video tutorial illustrates the easy design flow for a cylindrical patch antenna array. An inset feed patch antenna is selected from the Antenna Magus database to match design specifications. The model is then exported to CST MICROWAVE STUDIO for further analysis. The antenna model has been optimised by CST engineers to run accurately as is, but it can also be used as a basic element in a more complex design, such as of a conformal cylindrical four patch array for a GSM-1800 base station. The design flow involved - from choosing the antenna to completing the array ready for simulation - is demonstrated in this short video.
