    Skyworks introduces two miniature 0402 varactor diodes for voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), phase noise and voltage tuned filter applications. Plastic surface mount (SMT) packages are available for these discrete solutions. These diodes featured a small form factor and are ideal for applications requiring low resistance, low inductance and a wide tuning range. The SMV1705-040LF and SMV1232-040LF are designed for 3V platforms in low phase noise VCOs used at frequencies in wireless systems up to and beyond 2.5 GHz. These general market diodes are also ideal for WLAN, CATV, LNB, energy management, wireless infrastructure and military markets.

    Skyworks’ SMP1325-087LF is a surface mount PIN diode that can be used in an attenuator circuit, or an RF switch. It features a low total capacitance of 0.6 pF maximum @ 20 V, excellent thermal resistance of 40° C/W typical, low series resistance of 0.55 Ω maximum @ 100 mA, and more. A 2 W dissipation power rating allows this PIN diode to handle up to 50 W continuous wave (CW) and 500 W peak (1 µs pulse, 1 percent duty cycle) in a shunt-connected transmit/receive (T/R) switch.
