ThinkRF Releases Updated S240 Spectrum Analysis Software

New demodulation capabilities offer a deeper signal analysis when using the ThinkRF R5xx0 Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers

Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) - ThinkRF Corp., the leader in software-defined spectrum analysis, today announced the release of a new version of the ThinkRF S240 Real-Time Spectrum Analysis Software. The S240 software now expands its signal analysis capabilities to include signal demodulation. With this new capability, the S240 software extracts the original information-bearing signal from a carrier wave for a deeper signal analysis when using the ThinkRF R5xx0 Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers. This means RF engineers, monitoring program managers, and CTOs have increased functionality and greater coverage for regulatory and intelligence monitoring and telecom deployment optimization.

The ThinkRF S240 software is a simple, intuitive and easy-to-use Windows software application that provides comprehensive data visualization and measurement tools for both spectrum and signal analysis in one application. Thanks to seamless integration with the R5xx0 Spectrum Analyzers, there is no additional set up required.

These signal analysis capabilities are driven by a new user interface that provides the operator with a set of signal processing tools to ensure high signal fidelity for the demodulation process. Also, various signal representations of the demodulated signal are provided to the operator to enhance their decision-making during signal analysis. Furthermore, gapless streaming of IQ data has also been added in support of demodulation, allowing seamless playback of demodulated audio.

“We recognize that our customers need to be able to quickly and easily visualize both the spectrum and signals around them,” said Dr. Jasvinder Obhi, ThinkRF’s VP, Product Management and Marketing. “That’s why we’ve added these new capabilities to the S240 software, while ensuring our enhanced user interface is incredibly intuitive.”

Other features of the updated software include:

  • Analysis bandwidth: Control using the hardware selective IF bandwidths for better signal-to-noise ratio.
  • New signal displays: Three different representations of the demodulated signal implemented in the user interface: IQ Constellation, Frequency Domain, Time Domain.
  • Audio: Demodulated signals (live or from recordings) can be listened to via the Host PC sound card, where the operator can apply the proper audio filter as well as built-in amplification.
  • Recording and Playback: IQ data streams can be recorded and played back with full demodulation, graphing, and audio support.
