Sivers Semiconductors Receives First Order From India, From Astra Microwave Products Ltd For The 5G MmWave Dual Quad Beamformer IC

Sivers Semiconductors AB today announced they have received their first order from India, from Astra Microwave Products Ltd, based in Hyderabad, India, through their local reseller Doppler Electronics Pvt Ltd for the Dual Quad Beamforming IC chip (BFIC).

The purchase order includes sample chips, which will be used for evaluation of Sivers Semiconductors product portfolio as well as for study and analysis of how the chipset can be used and meet Astra’s requirements for various beamforming application scenarios.

The BFIC is intended for e.g. 5G dual polarized phased antenna array applications The chipset includes two quad antenna connections, each with RX/TX channels and including integrated RX/TX RF switches. The solution supports both horizontal and vertical polarization MIMO and has unique digital features to allow an easy adoption.
