Richardson RFPD Introduces New 450 MHz To 4 GHz, High Isolation SP4T Switch From Peregrine

Designed for 3G/4G wireless infrastructure and other high performance RF applications

Richardson RFPD, Inc. recently announces immediate availability and full design support capabilities for a new absorptive RF single-pole four-throw (SP4T) switch from Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation (Peregrine).

The broadband, highly linear PE42442 operates from 450 MHz to 4 GHz and features 61 dB isolation (at 900 MHz), +58 dBm IIP3, and +34 dBm power handling. It is comprised of four symmetric RF ports. An integrated CMOS decoder facilitates a two- or three-pin low voltage CMOS control interface and an external negative supply option. In addition, no external blocking capacitors are required if 0V DC is present on the RF ports.

This new switch is a pin-compatible four-throw version of Peregrine's PE42451, with 1.8V control logic. It is offered in a 24-lead 4 mm x 4 mm QFN package and is designed for use in 3G/4G wireless infrastructure and other high performance RF applications.

The PE42442 is manufactured on Peregrine’s UltraCMOS process, a patented variation of silicon-oninsulator (SOI) technology on a sapphire substrate, offering the performance of GaAs with the economy and integration of conventional CMOS. Peregrine’s HaRP technology enhancements provide for new RF architectures and unmatched linearity in RF front end solutions.
