Richardson RFPD Introduces New High-linearity DOCSIS 3.1 CATV Amplifier From MACOM

18 dB gain, low noise figure gain block operates from 45–1218 MHz

Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced today the availability and full design support capabilities for a new RF amplifier for CATV applications from MACOM Technology Solutions Inc. The MAAM-011220 provides 18 dB of ultra-flat gain while biased at either 8 or 5 volts. The amplifier provides excellent linearity, high gain, low noise and low distortion, making it ideally suited for 75 Ω infrastructure applications.

The MAAM-011220 is fabricated using GaAs pHEMT technology and is assembled in a SOT-89 plastic package.

Additional key features of the MAAM-011220 include:

• Single stage, single-ended
• 8 V, 130 mA or 5 V, 110 mA operation
• Flat gain: 18 dB
• Noise figure: o 2.6 dB @ 50–100 MHz o 2.4 dB @ 100–1218 MHz
• Low distortion performance
