The Network Design Module has a section dedicated to the design of a variety of point-to-multipoint (PMP) systems including LMDS, MDS, and WLL. The module is divided into two sections, one for the cellular and PCS applications and one for PMP applications.

The PMP capabilities of this module include full forward and reverse link signal level, C/I ratio, fade margin, and percent service availability studies for first, second, and third bast servers. Microwave fade and rain outage, terrain obstructions, and buildings obstructions are all considered in the link reliability calculations. The module incorporates tools for frequency planning optimization as well as initial layout of PMP system hubs and customer terminals (CT) in an arbitrarily user defined service area, allowing for rapid initial design estimates of coverage and service profiles for a new PMP system anywhere in the world.

The company's tools contain a new query function providing detailed information for all map layers inside a user-defined area. Company software can now support existing databases, including DTED and USGS ASCII formats. As with all EDX software, the module is supported by a wide array of mapping capabilities that display map images, aerial and satellite photographs, vector and raster data, as well as terrain, clutter, and building data.

The module has enhancements to the cellular and PCS capabilities that allows for frequency planning optimization techniques including factory-installed algorithms as well as an API that allows users to incorporate a full range of standard cellular and PCS system planning capacities such as signal level, most likely server, C/I ratio, handoff, and frequency planning studies. In addition to supporting GSM, TDMA, AMPS, and NAMPS systems, a full suite of CDMA study types is included.

The module is an add-on for use with wireless planning tools EDX SignalPpo and MCS.
