Power Amplifier Thermal Protection: Power Back Off

Power amplifiers generate enough heat to require a method of sinking the heat away from the device. Sometimes, the amplifying device generates heat faster than the heat sink system can pull away. This article presents the use of temperature-controlled circuitry to shut down the internal amplifier to allow the device to safely cool before turning back on.
