Phase-Locked Oscillator Offers Significant Improvements Over Conventional Crystal Oscillators In Hi-Rel Applications

Model LT-25 Phase-Locked Oscillator is a frequency synthesizer designed for use in high reliability environments where high stability and low phase noise over temperature and vibration are stringent requirements. Utilizing a precision 10 MHz external frequency reference, Model LT-25 is especially characterized by its fast rise/fall times (< 2 nSec with 8 pF load) and exceptionally low phase noise: -115 dBc/Hz at 20 Hz offset; -135 dBc/Hz @ 10 KHz offset; -150 dBc/Hz @ 100 KHz offset. RMS noise is < 0.022 degrees over 20 Hz – 10 MHz. The LT-Series PLO is available in frequencies from 6 MHz to over 50 MHz, and typically operates off +5 VDC at 145 mA (0.725 watts total power consumption). Its 3.3 V CMOS output comes on frequency almost instantly without the warm-up time typically associated with conventional crystal oscillators.
Operating without degradation over –40o C to +85o C, this product is hermetically sealed against humidity, and is screened to MIL-STD-883. The oscillator is packaged in a 1.3" x 1.1" x 0.35" aluminum housing and is supplied with glass-bead pins, which can be gull-wing pre-formed for surface mount applications.
