Rick Montgomery, a cofounder of Microwave Networks Incorporated (MNI), serves as CEO and director of Mimix. MNI was a supplier of point-to-point digital microwave radios that was founded in 1982 and successfully merged into California Microwave in 1995, forming the largest supplier of microwave radios in the United States at that time. In addition to founding a successful company, Mr. Montgomery has 25 years of experience in high technology companies in the areas of general management, international sales, research and development and strategic product marketing. Mr. Montgomery brings extensive international business experience as demonstrated by his achievements in major sales and operations established in Mexico, Singapore, Philippines, Australia and China.
Carl Frampton, former CFO and COO of MNI, serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Frampton's background encompasses successful financial management, profitable acquisitions and divestitures, as well as several re-capitalizations, private placements and merger transactions. A CPA with 25 years of experience and a background in a Big 8 accounting firm, Mr. Frampton is a well-rounded financial and operations executive with multi-national exposure. Mr. Frampton received his BBA from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Jim Harvey, Chief Technology Officer, has more than 30 years of industry experience and is responsible for the overall technical direction of the company. Dr. Harvey has served as the head of the Australia Design Center since 1993 and prior to that worked at GEC Plessey Telecommunications and Exicom Australia Pty Limited. Earning a PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of New South Wales, Dr. Harvey has a detailed technical background, which includes digital transmission, modulation and signal processing with expertise in millimeter-wave, microwave, optical fiber systems and digital telecommunication systems design. Dr. Harvey has extensive experience managing large groups of engineers and new product development projects.
Peter J. Hales, Vice President Sales, has 21 years of experience in sales and marketing in the microwave and millimeter-wave industry. Prior to joining Mimix, Mr. Hales was the Director of European Sales for Raytheon's Commercial Electronics division, where he established the European sales organization, marketing and promoting Raytheon's various Commercial business units. These products included Raytheon's GaAs devices, millimeter-wave modules, active and smart antennae, automotive radar and networking products. Mr. Hales also counts tenures at Castle Microwave as General Manager and NEC Electronics as Strategic Business Unit Manager. An accomplished sales executive, he has consistently achieved double- and triple-digit sales increases throughout his career for both growth and larger organizations. Mr. Hales graduated from the University of Hull with a BSc in Electronic Engineering.
Damian McCann, Vice President Product Development, has more than 20 years of experience in microwave and millimeter wave component development, device modeling and design. Before joining Mimix, Mr. McCann was Vice President of Advanced Marketing and Technology for Celeritek, Inc., where he led strategic planning efforts, identified target market opportunities and, as leading technologist, worked closely with engineering teams. During his fourteen years at Celeritek, Mr. McCann successfully secured key orders, grew the company's customer base by 1100%, and captured 14% of the relevant market share. Prior to his tenure at Celeritek, Mr. McCann advanced to Principal Engineer at GEC Plessey / Marconi Electronic Products, England. Mr. McCann holds a Certificate Degree in Marketing from UCSC , Santa Clara, and graduated from Queens University of Belfast, N. Ireland with a B.Sc. (Honors) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Vincent E. Pelliccia, Vice President North American Sales, has 19 years of experience in microwave modules, semiconductors and systems, including product and business development. Most recently, Mr. Pelliccia was with Paratek Microwave, a semiconductor start-up developing miniature tunable RF products. For twelve years prior to that, Mr. Pelliccia held positions of increasing responsibility with M/A-COM including Active IC Product Manager, Foundry Manager, and Communications and Sensors Product Group Manager, encompassing LMDS systems business, mmwave radar products and mmwave sensors. Mr. Pelliccia contributed to the development of millimeter-wave process technology, the global launch of M/A-COM's Active IC product line, and led the team responsible for the MMIC VSAT product line, an industry first. During this time he leveraged his in-depth knowledge of the microwave industry to drive sales in new market segments. Mr. Pelliccia graduated from University of South Florida with a BSEE and began his career as a microwave module engineer with E-Systems.
Julie Teinert, Vice President Marketing, comes from a strategic marketing background in the Electronic Components industry and brings product management and marketing communications expertise to the Company. Prior to joining Mimix, Ms. Teinert was Product Line Manager at RF Monolithics, Inc., a SAW component manufacturer, where she also served as Marketing Communications Manager and was responsible for Strategic Planning. Ms. Teinert previously held positions as a marketing consultant and advertising account manager in the high technology industry, with proficiencies in marketing analysis, project management, communications, consumer promotions and channel management. Earning a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Teinert also holds an MA in International Management Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Kit Yong, Vice President Business Development, holds MSEE and BSEE degrees from Columbia University, as well as an MBA degree from the National University of Singapore. Mr. Yong has a strong background and extensive experience in wireless networking, PC and telecommunications industries. He was a former member of the board of directors at Wi-Fi Alliance. Prior to Mimix, Mr. Yong was VP, Business Development at LinCom Wireless, a fabless semiconductor start-up developing IEEE 802.11a and 802.11b WLAN chipsets. Mr. Yong has also directed the wireless product business units at Dell Computer and Compaq Computer. He has also worked at the AT&T/Lucent Technology Bell Labs as R&D director and technical manager.
John Abbott, Director of Quality, has 20 years of experience in Quality since graduating from University of Missouri with a BS in chemical engineering. Most recently, he was Manager of Quality Systems at Resolution Performance Products (a former Shell Chemical Co.), where he led the update efforts to the ISO 9001:2000 standard. Prior to that position, Mr. Abbott was Quality Manager at Glenayre, which has developed and provided leading-edge wireless messaging products and systems for the past 35 years.
Paul Beasly, Product Manager, originally joined the company as a MMIC designer specializing in integrated receiver and transmitter products. Mr. Beasly has an in depth knowledge of the relevant technologies from his design experience that strengthens the marketing functions at Mimix. Mr. Beasly earned a BSc (Engineering Physics, 1st Class Honours) and BA (English) from the University of NSW.
Jeff Kovitz, Product Manager, was a cofounder of Shason Microwave Corporation and has in-depth knowledge of the technology and industry. Mr. Kovitz has more than 15 years of experience in the microwave industry. He received a BSEE specializing in Microwave Circuit Design from Texas A&M University.
Alden Lofquist, Director of Sales, Western North America, holds a BS degree in Systems Engineering and Econometrics (Economics Systems Science) from UCLA, and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Mr. Lofquist has extensive experience in worldwide semiconductor sales, including Director and Manager positions at Celeritek, Tropian, Oki Semiconductor, Performance Semiconductor, AMI/Gould Microelectronics and Kierulff Electronics. Mr. Lofquist's background includes start-up experience, as well as a tenure directing sales for a multimode/multiband baseband chipset manufacturer.
Dr. Simon Mahon, Director of MMIC Design, brings an abundance of expertise in pHEMT process, millimeter-wave and microwave MMIC circuit and system design, which enables Mimix to launch products quickly. Publishing more than 10 journal and conference papers, Dr. Mahon has held project leadership and managerial roles in fast-paced, high technology environments in which time-to-market is a primary objective. Dr. Mahon earned a BE (Electrical, 1st Class Honors), BSc (Maths & Physics) and PhD from University of Sydney.
Dan Messick, Director of Manufacturing, has 14 years of experience ranging from quality engineering supervision to director of manufacturing engineering/operations management, with an emphasis on managing multiple projects to improve productivity, quality and cost reductions across the board. A BSEE, Mr. Messick joined California Microwave in 1989 and had positions at Compaq Computer and Radisys prior to joining Mimix in 2002.
David Richardson is the Director of Engineering at the Houston Applications Center. Holding a BSEE from University of Southern Queensland, Australia and an MSEE from University of New South Wales, Australia, Mr. Richardson has nearly 15 years of experience in telecommunication product design in international companies. Mr. Richardson's technical experience includes DSP, RF and IF design with expertise in high-speed modem design and radio system architectures. During his career, Mr. Richardson has been project manager and technical authority for a number of successful microwave radio developments, as well as playing a lead role in the research of customer requirements for products under proposal and development.
