Developing Efficient Design Procedures For Wideband, Low-Profile Antennas Using Altair FEKO

Source: Altair Engineering Inc

Low-profile, concealed antennas are often desired for diverse applications across many military and commercial vehicle platforms. Since antennas mounted close to the ground have decreased efficiency, potential antenna applications need to benefit from the coupling to the ground and/or rely on short distance communication. Traditional analytical propagation models are not applicable to short-distance near-ground signal propagation, so numerical modeling is required. FEKO electromagnetic simulation technology is an attractive solution with superior effect capabilities that account for mutual coupling between receiving and transmitting antennas. Download the article for more information on how FEKO is used for developing efficient design procedures for wideband, low-profile antennas.
