BroadWave Technologies Has Developed A Lightweight 250-Watt Termination

Model 552-279-250 is a space saving 50 Ω, DC-4 GHz termination with a N female connector. This conduction-cooled termination mounts to a customer provided heat sink, exhibits 1.35:1 maximum VSWR with an operating temperature range of -40℃ to +85℃.

Originally developed for a manufacturer of cellular networks, these conduction-cooled terminations have been deployed in military communication systems as well as field and laboratory test environments. Careful temperature calculations and heat dissipation strategies are necessary for successful conductive termination implementation. Before using a conductive device in an application ambient temperature and available airflow must be considered so the case temperature of these devices does not exceed 100℃.
